Mission Statement and Purpose

The Historic Hannibal Marketing Council is a cooperative marketing organization whose mission is to promote the economic prosperity of its members through the following means:

  • Working to preserve and protect the historic character of the traditional downtown.
  • Working to beautify the streetscape of the traditional downtown.
  • Fostering cooperation among members and between the HHMC and other community stakeholders.
  • Providing a unified voice for members on larger issues which impact the economic well-being of members.

Reasons to join.

  • Have an active voice among the neighborhood downtown merchants.
  • Become part of an organization that actively works on your behalf to enhance your business’ environment and draw in consumers.
  • Get your business involved in events that draw customers in your store such as Great Girlfriend Getaway, Chocolate Extravaganza, Victorian Christmas Festival, and Twain on Main.
  • Become informed on the latest downtown updates and events.

Annual Dues  

$60.00

Membership dues are billed annually. Dues contribute to HHMC projects such as sponsored events, beautification funds, and more.

Meetings

The Board of Directors meets every third Tuesday at 5:15pm at The Mark Twain Museum - all members are welcome to attend. General membership meetings occur quarterly at a to be determined location.

  • Purchase of Christmas decorations such as wreaths, garland, etc for the downtown streetscape. Coordinated uniform christmas lighting for downtown businesses.
  • Purchase of flower pots for Main and Broadway and plans to expand further.
  • Advocated beautifications to public streets and parks to City Council.
  • Purchased and installed dog waste stations.
  • Created cooperative advertising packages for HHMC members.
